In celebration of its 117th anniversary, the Philippine Bible Society (PBS), in partnership with the United Bible Societies, presents Signs of Hope: A Worship Celebration on November 25, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Christ’s Commission Fellowship Center, Frontera Verde, Pasig City.
According to PBS General Secretary Dr. Nora Lucero, the event is a celebration of God’s faithfulness to the Bible Society for nearly 12 decades. “We praise God for His goodness and faithfulness to PBS. He has guided us and enabled us to make the Bible known all these many years. He continues to do so until now,” she explained.
She added that this year’s celebration also aims to raise awareness and support to bring the Good News to the deaf people. “People from all walks of life need to hear God’s Word. So, this year, with the help of ourpartners, we also want to make the Bible available to the deaf so they can hear it too,” Dr. Lucero said.
Proceeds of the event will go to the translation of the Scriptures for the Deaf. To know more about the Bible in sign language, please visit: https://www.unitedbiblesocieties.org/translation/translation-into-sign-

winning international artist Billy Dorsey, the Philippines’ premier vocal ensemble The CompanY, and renowned worship leader Pastor
Rommel Guevarra. A special presentation will also be rendered by the Capitol City Baptist Church Deaf Choir, while PBS President and Chairman retired Chief Justice Reynato Puno, and UBS Deaf Ministry Coordinator Chris Dale will give inspiring messages. The event also serves as a gathering of Facebook Digital Bible (www.facebook.com/DigitalBible) followers of Manila. More than 10 million people, a million of whom are from the Philippines, now turn to the Digital Bible page on Facebook for their source of daily Bible encouragement. The page, operated by the United Bible Societies, combines Scripture verses on the major themes of the Bible with captivating visual imagery.
The leading source of Scriptures since 1899, the Philippine Bible Society (www.bible.org.ph) continues to pursue the widest possible effective and meaningful distribution of the Holy Scriptures in languages that people understand, in media and formats that meet their needs and at prices they can afford, while providing everyone the opportunity to pray, give, volunteer and engage with the Word of God. Meanwhile, the United Bible Societies (www.unitedbiblesocieties.org) is a global network of Bible Societies working in more than 200 countries and territories across the world. Together, UBS members are the world’s biggest translator, publisher, and distributor of the Bible. Bible Societies are also active in areas such as HIV/AIDS prevention, trauma healing, and literacy. It also works with all Christian Churches and many international non-governmental organizations.
Tickets for the event are priced at PHP 100 and PHP 500 and are available in the PBS BibleHouse along United Nations Avenue and in Sta. Mesa, Manila.
